Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Terron Armstead left the team’s practice on Thursday due to a right leg injury. He got injured during the very first snap of 11-on-11 reps and was subsequently carted off the field.

Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill spoke to the media about Armstead and provided reporters with a hilarious update after Armstead’s injury.

“As soon as it happened, I went up to him,” Hill said. “I said, ‘You straight?’ He said, ‘Yeah, I’m straight, man. I’m just old.'”

Armstead, 32, has played for two teams — the Dolphins and New Orleans Saints — across his 10 seasons in the NFL. He played 13 games with the Dolphins during the 2022 regular season (all starts) and earned a Pro Bowl selection, the fourth of his pro career.

Meanwhile, Hill, 29, has played seven seasons in the NFL. He spent his first six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and won a Super Bowl with them back in 2020 before he was traded to the Dolphins in the spring of 2022.

Hill is fresh off one of the best seasons of his pro career with the Dolphins in 2022. Across 17 games played during the regular season, he finished with 1,710 receiving yards on 119 receptions, which equates to 14.4 receiving yards per reception.

Additionally, the 5-foot-10 receiver averaged a whopping 100.6 receiving yards per game during the regular season, the highest average of his NFL career by a wide margin.

Hill underperformed in the Dolphins’ Wild Card game against the Buffalo Bills, however, at least by his standards. He caught just seven of his 15 pass targets and finished with 69 receiving yards, a far cry from his regular-season average of 100.6 receiving yards per game. The Dolphins went on to lose that game against the Bills by a final score of 34-31.

Here’s to hoping that Armstead’s injury is nothing major and that he’ll be ready to play for the Dolphins once their 2023 regular season begins next month. After all, he’s one of the best offensive tackles in the NFL right now.
