Jalen Ramsey addresses Tyreek Hill previously saying he wanted to box him

Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey addressed his now-teammate Tyreek Hill’s comments from last season about wanting to box him.

Hill called Ramsey a “bully” in an interview in 2022, saying that he wanted to face the cornerback in a boxing match. Ironically, the two are now teammates after the Dolphins orchestrated a deal with the Los Angeles Rams to acquire Ramsey this offseason.

“You know it’s crazy — our locker right next to each other too,” Ramsey said of Hill.

Ramsey was then asked if that was done on purpose.

“Yeah, it was on purpose,” he said. “But it wasn’t for that reason. It was on purpose ’cause the best players gotta be in a little certain area.”

The Florida State University product said that if the money was “right,” he would box Hill, but he said that the two teammates are cool.

“We ain’t got no beef or nothing,” Ramsey said.

It’s a funny situation for Hill and Ramsey, who are two of the best players in the league at their respective positions.

Last season, Hill transformed Miami’s offense with his speed, allowing quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to reach new heights.

Hill finished the 2022 season with 119 catches for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns. He averaged over 100 receiving yards per game even though the team had to play three different quarterbacks.

Now, he gets to line up against Ramsey in practice this season, which should only make both players better. Miami acquired Ramsey for practically nothing earlier this year, giving up just a third-round pick in the 2023 draft and 24-year-old tight end Hunter Long to the Rams.

Having two elite talents like Ramsey and Hill on both sides of the ball is great for Miami.

There never seemed to be much malice behind Hill’s initial challenge, as he seems to be more of just a competitor that wants to go against the best. Now, the Dolphins wideout has the benefit of one of the best corners in the game being on his side and not having to face him in games during the season.

The Dolphins have a long way to go before the 2023 regular season starts, but they are hoping that they can improve on their 9-8 finish from last season and make a deep playoff run.
