As the Miami Dolphins continue to fill in the gaps on their roster, the team has reportedly discussed inside linebackers like Lavonte David, Denzel Perryman and Bobby Wagner.

“We’re told that the Dolphins have internally discussed Lavonte David, Denzel Perryman, Bobby Wagner and several other inside linebackers,” wrote Barry Jackson and Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald. “I expect them to reach out to several of them. David and Perryman are both on their radar.”

All three of the aforementioned players have earned some nice accolades over the years.

David has earned a Pro Bowl selection, first-team All-Pro nod and Super Bowl title during his time in the NFL. Perryman also has a Pro Bowl selection to his name. Wagner, meanwhile, has racked up eight Pro Bowl bids, six first-team All-Pro selections and one Super Bowl title.

This past season, David had three sacks, 124 combined tackles, 10 tackles for loss and three quarterback hits. He was also credited with five passes defended, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Perryman appeared in just 12 games in the 2022 campaign, but he was still productive. He had a sack, 83 combined tackles, 14 tackles for loss and five quarterback hits. He picked off a career-high two passes and added two passes defended for good measure.

As for Wagner, he’s the most decorated player of the three and has been in the NFL for over a decade. This past season, he posted a career-high six sacks. He added 140 combined tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 10 quarterback hits. The veteran had two interceptions and five passes defended.

The Dolphins have become one of the most aggressive teams in the NFL when it comes to adding talent, and Chris Grier is getting fans to believe that no move is too big for the organization.

Miami could certainly use some help at inside linebacker, and the front office is clearly aware of that. If the team can add a key piece in that department, it’ll be yet another box the organization can check in what’s already been a big offseason.

The future seems bright in Miami, and with the way things are trending this offseason, the Dolphins are looking like major championship contenders going into the 2023 campaign.
