Miami Dolphins among betting favorites to land Derrick Henry if Tennessee Titans trade him

The Miami Dolphins are heading into the 2023 NFL offseason with a need to address the running back position. That is likely why the Dolphins are listed among the betting favorites to land superstar running back Derrick Henry if the Tennessee Titans end up deciding to trade him.

When it comes to the question of whether or not the Titans will actually decide to trade the star running back, it has already been reported that Henry is among the star players that have been shopped this offseason.

“According to my sources — all of them current general managers — Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey and Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins are among the players who’ve been shopped in recent days,” Michael Silver of Bally Sports reported.

With that in mind, other NFL insiders seem to have another story, with Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports claiming that the Titans are not shopping him at this time, adding that Titans general manager Ran Carthon “would be ‘methodical’ in his approach to free agency and changes to the team.”

It appears clear that there is still a bit of mystery surrounding the 2020 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year award winner.

What is not a mystery is whether or not Henry would help the Dolphins if he were to be added to the team’s already potent offense. Henry is one of the most punishing running backs in the league today, and at 6-foot-3, 247 pounds, he is larger than many of the defenders that are unlucky enough to meet him in the open field.

Though he only played in eight games in 2021 after suffering a broken foot in Week 8, he had a comeback season in 2022 to prove that he is still one of the league’s best.

He finished with 349 carries, 1,538 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground. He added 398 yards through the air.

Adding that kind of weapon to the offense would make the Dolphins unit incredibly hard to defend. Defenses would simply have to pick their poison in terms of defending the pass or the run. Chances are good, the Dolphins would be able to move the ball with relative ease either way.
