Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been lighting things up at training camp, and his teammates are taking notice.
Dolphins youngster Jevon Holland shared a message in support of his quarterback on Saturday night.
Tagovailoa is entering his third season in the NFL after he was selected by the Dolphins with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
With improved weapons like Tyreek Hill and Chase Edmonds on offense, Tagovailoa has a chance to have his best season as a professional so far in 2022.
In two seasons with Miami, Tagovailoa has compiled a 13-8 record as a starter. He’s one of the most accurate passers in the game and completed 67.8 percent of his throws last season.
It’s great to see a young player like Holland backing his quarterback prior to the start of the 2022 season.
Holland, a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, had a strong rookie season. He appeared in 16 games for the Dolphins, made 13 starts and became a key piece of Miami’s secondary.
During the 2021 season, Holland picked up 69 combined tackles, three tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, three fumble recoveries and two interceptions. The Dolphins are surely hoping he can take the next step as a playmaker in the secondary in the 2022 campaign.
If Tagovailoa takes a leap forward in the 2022 season, the Dolphins may find themselves back in the playoffs. Miami just missed the postseason in each of the past two seasons despite finishing over .500 both times.
