Tua Tagovailoa on being criticized this offseason: ‘If I can’t hear you, you’re not that important to me’

One of the bigger stories coming out of South Florida ahead of the 2022 NFL regular season has been whether or not quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will be able to prove that he deserves to be a franchise player in the league.

Tagovailoa has had ups and downs during his first two seasons in the NFL, and while he has flashed great potential, he has not been able to put it all together for a considerable stretch thus far.

Despite there being a lot of question marks about his prospects this season, he’s made it clear that he is not listening to the doubters.

It’s the right approach for a quarterback facing immense pressure. The only thing Tagovailoa can really do right now is work on his craft and continue to form connections with his offensive weapons.

On that front, there is no doubt that Tagovailoa will be playing with more talent this season than he ever has up in his NFL career.

Sophomore receiver Jaylen Waddle is sure to take another leap in his progression after a solid rookie year, and newly acquired superstar Tyreek Hill is arguably the best receiver Tagovailoa has ever played with.

On top of that, the Dolphins have also made additions to the offensive line and running back corps. It’s clear that the Dolphins are trying to put their young quarterback in a position to succeed this season.

He’s going to have to do just that if he wants to remain the unquestioned starter for this upcoming season and beyond.
