Miami Dolphins general manager Chris Grier’s brother Mike is reportedly set to be named the new general manager of the San Jose Sharks of the NHL.

Mike Grier will become the first Black general manager in NHL history.

The Sharks are expected to announce Mike Grier as their new general manager during a press conference on Tuesday.

Chris Grier has been the Dolphins’ general manager since 2016, and now, he and his brother are showing that they are two of the brightest minds in all of sports by holding general manager positions across two different professional leagues.

Mike Grier, who played 14 seasons in the NHL for the Sharks, Buffalo Sabres, Washington Capitals and Edmonton Oilers, finished his playing career back in 2011.

He has held positions with the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks in their front offices. Now, he will replace Sharks interim general manager Joe Will.

Sharks fans have to be excited to have a former player like Mike Grier in position to lead the franchise, especially given his experience around the league.

Meanwhile, Chris Grier is coming off arguably his best offseason as the Dolphins’ general manager, as he traded for Tyreek Hill and signed key players such as Terron Armstead, Raheem Mostert, Cedrick Wilson Jr. and Chase Edmonds in free agency.

Both brothers are showing that they are not only able to break barriers, but that they are also extremely talented and respected in the sports world. Chris Grier will surely be cheering hard for his brother from afar.
