Jaelan Phillips’ scared and hilarious reaction to Mike Grier joining San Jose Sharks

Miami Dolphins pass rusher Jaelan Phillips had a great reaction to the news that Mike Grier, the brother of Dolphins general manager Chris Grier, will become the general manager of the NHL’s San Jose Sharks.

Phillips was worried that Chris Grier was taking the job and leaving the Dolphins. Luckily for Phillips, that is not the case.

Mike Grier played 14 seasons in the NHL for the Sharks, Buffalo Sabres, Washington Capitals and Edmonton Oilers, and he has front office experience with both the New York Rangers and Chicago Blackhawks. Now, he will become the first Black general manager in the history of the NHL.

Phillips, who was a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, clearly has strong ties to Chris Grier and is glad that he is staying in Miami.

Phillips had a strong rookie season for the Dolphins, as he recorded 8.5 sacks and appeared in all 17 games, making five starts. Phillips finished the season with 42 combined tackles, nine tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.

He should have even more chances to thrive as a playmaker on the Dolphins defense in the 2022 season now that he has a full year of NFL experience under his belt.

Phillips was a beast in his last collegiate season at the University of Miami. He totaled 45 tackles and eight sacks.

The Dolphins and Chris Grier showed a lot of faith in him by taking him in the first round, so Phillips will look to make his general manager proud now that he knows he isn’t leaving.
