Sharpe says Hill is about to learn what it’s like to go from a ‘historically great’ QB to a ‘very average’ one

Recently, Miami Dolphins newcomer Tyreek Hill made a pretty unexpected claim when he asserted that Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is more accurate than Kansas City Chiefs superstar passer Patrick Mahomes.

Of course, Hill played with Mahomes for multiple seasons before being traded to the Dolphins earlier this offseason.

A lot of individuals have reacted to Hill’s claim about Mahomes and Tagovailoa, including sports pundit and former NFL superstar Shannon Sharpe.

Sharpe warned Hill that he will soon find out what it is like to go from an elite player in Mahomes to an “average” quarterback in Tagovailoa.

There’s no arguing against the notion that Mahomes has been a better quarterback than Tagovailoa so far. In fact, the Dolphins’ young quarterback has been something of a disappointment since entering the league as the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Last season, he finished with just passing 2,653 yards. He also threw for 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. Though he has a career record of 13-8 as a starter, he has yet to lead the Dolphins to the playoffs.

However, Tagovailoa has never really had the tools that he’s needed to be all that successful. In both of his seasons in the league, he hasn’t been surrounded by much elite talent.

In the 2022 NFL season, that figures to be very different. The Dolphins spent a lot of money and assets earlier this offseason to make sure that the talent surrounding Tagovailoa will be improved in the upcoming season.

It will be up to him to rise to the occasion and prove that he can really be a franchise quarterback in the league.
