Senior Bowl executive director praises Channing Tindall, says he has a ‘really high’ ceiling

Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy recently offered his thoughts on Miami Dolphins newcomer Channing Tindall.

Nagy is a former NFL scout, so it’s probably safe to assume that he’s a solid evaluator of talent. For that reason, Dolphins fans will be happy to know that he had plenty of good things to say about Tindall.

“Channing has got a really high ceiling,” Nagy said to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. “There was a game in the beginning of the year, against Clemson, that he may have played only 10, 11 snaps the whole game, but the 10, 11 he played, he got your attention.”

Nagy offered his thoughts on what makes Tindall stand out.

“The things that stick out about Channing are his speed and range and physicality,” Nagy said. “Everyone in the league is looking for guys that can run and hit and cover, and Channing can certainly do that. You fill your linebacker room with guys that run in the 4.4s, and you’re heading in the right direction.

“He wouldn’t have reached 102 if he played a more prominent role on a lesser defense. He gets clumped in as a byproduct of that particular unit.”

The Dolphins added Tindall in the third round of this year’s draft. The youngster did wonders for his draft stock in his final year at the University of Georgia. In 15 games, he racked up 67 total tackles and 5.5 sacks.

The 22-year-old would surely love to make a legitimate impact for the Dolphins in his first season at the NFL level. Time will tell if that’s in the cards.

The future seems bright for the Dolphins, who are beginning a new era with Mike McDaniel at the helm. The first-year head coach is looking to lead Miami to its first playoff appearance since the 2016 NFL season. Dolphins fans are certainly ready for the drought to end.

Given some of the additions the team has made this offseason, an exciting 2022 season seems likely for Miami.
