Jevon Holland’s admirable take on having to practice against the ‘fastest player in the NFL’ in Tyreek Hill

This offseason, the Miami Dolphins added some immense speed to their offense.

Despite already having speedy youngster Jaylen Waddle, the Dolphins completed a blockbuster trade for Tyreek Hill earlier this offseason. While Miami’s offense is sure to benefit most from the addition, young safety Jevon Holland knows the move will also benefit the team’s defense.

Namely, facing one of the NFL’s fastest receivers offers an immense challenge for Miami’s defense in practice. Holland knows that the challenge will only make the team’s defensive unit better.

Last season, Hill blistered opposing defenders to the tune of 111 receptions, 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns.

Shockingly, his production in the 2021 season suffered a major dip in the scoring department. He recorded 15 touchdowns in the previous season.

He’ll look to enjoy similar success in the upcoming season with the Dolphins.

As for Holland, he looked like one of the steals of the 2021 NFL Draft class last season. He was the No. 36 overall pick in 2021.

By the end of the season, he had started 13 games and logged two interceptions, three fumble recoveries, 69 total tackles and three tackles for loss. He is undoubtedly one of the most promising young safeties in the league and has been a major addition to Miami’s defensive attack.

In the last two NFL seasons, the Dolphins were in the playoff chase until the end of the season. Sadly, both years ended up in disappointment, as the Dolphins missed out on the playoffs.

In the upcoming season, they will surely look to end up on the other end of that chase. Holland and Hill will likely both play very large roles in that pursuit.
