The Miami Dolphins already have two of the fastest wide receivers in the NFL in Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill.

However, it sounds like they might be interested in adding even more speed to their receiving corps. The team is reportedly set to work out Baylor University product Tyquan Thornton sometime soon.

Thornton recorded an absurd 4.28 40-yard dash time at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine earlier in the offseason.

The Miami native obviously has blazing speed, and he also stands 6-foot-3. With his size and quickness, he could definitely make some eye-popping plays at the next level.

In the 2021 season, Thornton played in 14 games for Baylor, recording 62 catches for 948 yards and 10 touchdowns. It was easily the best season of his collegiate career.

During his time at Baylor, the youngster caught 143 passes for 2,242 yards and 19 touchdowns. He’s definitely shown that he’s got what it takes to contribute in the pros.

Miami only has a total of four picks in the upcoming draft. It traded away many selections to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for Hill. The Dolphins are now left with one third-round pick, one fourth-round pick and two seventh-round picks.

The Dolphins might be able to snag Thornton with one of their picks in the middle of the draft. If so, he’d surely learn many things from Waddle, Hill and Cedrick Wilson Jr.

New Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is hoping to lead the team back to the playoffs in the 2022 campaign. Miami hasn’t reached the postseason since the 2016 season.
