Jaylen Waddle hopeful of learning from Tyreek Hill: ‘I’m going to soak up all the game’

The Miami Dolphins will enter the 2022 NFL season with what is arguably the fastest wide receiver duo in the league.

Of course, youngster Jaylen Waddle and superstar Tyreek Hill make up that tandem.

Though the current offseason is still pretty young, Waddle already seems confident that he will be able to learn from his new teammate.

“He’s going on his seventh year,” Waddle told Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel. “He’s had tremendous success. I can learn a lot from him if he’s willing to teach it. I’m going to soak up all the game.”

It’s not surprising that the University of Alabama product is taking a positive approach, but it is great nonetheless.

Last season, Waddle had a fantastic rookie year, finishing the 2021 campaign with 104 catches for 1,015 yards and six touchdowns. He also assuaged injury concerns by suiting up in 16 games. He started in all 16 of his appearances.

As for Hill, he had another incredible season. He finished the year with 111 catches for 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns while playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Dolphins acquired Hill from the Chiefs in late March in a blockbuster trade.

Though the Dolphins have narrowly missed out on the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, it seems like the team is setting itself up for success in the upcoming season. With an explosive offense and stingy defense, the Dolphins could definitely be one of the teams that makes waves in 2022.

Miami also has a new head coach in Mike McDaniel. If the Dolphins do end up advancing to the playoffs, there is little question that Hill and Waddle will have played large roles in that success.
