Mike McDaniel calls the recent rumors linking Tom Brady to the Miami Dolphins ‘fake news’

The Miami Dolphins have had an incredibly exciting offseason thus far, and it has included the hiring of a new head coach, major signings and a blockbuster trade as well.

Some Dolphins fans believe the fireworks are not yet over, as there have been rumors swirling on social media lately that the Dolphins could make a play to add seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.

While the prospect of adding Brady is undoubtedly an exciting one, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel recently made it clear that the rumor is nothing more than “fake news.”

It’s not much of a shock that many Dolphins fans are very excited by the idea of adding Brady. He is a one-of-a-kind player and has dominated the league throughout his incredible career like no other player ever has.

With that in mind, it is also not so surprising that the Dolphins are seemingly not interested. After all, the team seems as committed as ever to their young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Tagovailoa was selected by the Dolphins with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. While he has had moments that have been incredibly impressive, he has not really lived up to expectations. Beyond that, he has also been overshadowed by other quarterbacks, drafted before and after him, that have outperformed him thus far.

Still, with the new additions that the Dolphins have made to their offensive line, wide receiver unit and stable of running backs, the thought is that Tagovailoa will finally be able to truly succeed at the NFL level.

Whether or not the University of Alabama product has a breakout campaign during the 2022 season remains to be seen.
