Report: Miami Dolphins ‘very interested’ in 8-time Pro Bowler Bobby Wagner

The Miami Dolphins are looking to make some big moves this offseason as they prepare to hopefully end their postseason drought in the 2022 campaign.

Although new Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel has a reputation of being an offensive guru, it does not look like defense is going to be an afterthought in any way.

In fact, based on a recent report, the Dolphins are one of many teams interested in linebacker Bobby Wagner.

Wagner entered the NFL as the No. 47 overall pick in the 2012 draft. In 10 NFL seasons, he has earned eight Pro Bowl selections. He won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks in the 2013 season.

Although he’s getting up there in age at 31 years old, there is no doubt that Wagner would be a fantastic addition to the Dolphins’ defense.

Last season, he started in all 16 games he played in. He finished the year with 93 solo tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, one interception and one forced fumble. Clearly, he still knows how to make an impact on the football field.

If the Dolphins were to bring in Wagner, they would be adding an immense talent to a defense that is already full of quality players. If Miami’s defense plays at a high level in the 2022 season, the team’s offense will hopefully have the freedom it needs to come into its own.

If both sides of the ball improve a bit in the upcoming season, the Dolphins should be in a good spot to get over the hump and finally end their playoff drought.
