Report: Miami Dolphins take important COVID-19 precaution amidst multiple players’ positive tests

Several Miami Dolphins players have recently tested positive for COVID-19.

In response, the team is reportedly opting to enhance its COVID-19 protocols.

Currently, four Dolphins players have been placed on the team’s COVID-19 reserve list. The latest to be included was safety Jevon Holland. The other three are running backs Phillip Lindsay, Salvon Ahmed and Myles Gaskin.

The players’ statuses for the team’s next game are still unclear. Since all of them have gotten vaccinated, there’s a chance they could still suit up for the Dolphins’ Week 15 game.

Miami will face the New York Jets next. Since New York is already eliminated from playoff contention, it seems like the Dolphins will have an easy matchup. But if the team is down a significant number of players, then it will have a smaller margin of error.

The Dolphins are currently 6-7 in the standings and hold the No. 3 seed in the AFC East. All of their remaining contests are must-win games, especially since they are looking to reach the postseason.

Miami has momentum on its side, having won its last five matches. However, losing key players at this point of the season could derail the team’s momentum and have a negative impact on its chemistry.

Hopefully, the enhanced protocols can help impede the spread of the virus within the team.

After the Jets game, the Dolphins will match up against the New Orleans Saints. Miami will then close out the regular season by facing two contenders in the Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots.
