Report: Malcolm Brown set to return to Miami Dolphins practice

Miami Dolphins running back Malcolm Brown is reportedly returning to practice on Wednesday.

It’s good news for a Dolphins squad that needs to get as healthy as possible given the organization’s COVID-19 situation.

It seems possible that Brown will find himself thrust into a big role for Miami against the New York Jets in Week 15. The Dolphins are very thin at the running back position right now, and Brown could end up carrying a big load against New York as a result.

Brown has appeared in seven games this season for Miami. So far, he has been able to rack up 125 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries.

Last season, the 28-year-old appeared in 16 games for the Los Angeles Rams. He was able to rush for 419 yards and five touchdowns. He also reeled in 162 yards through the air.

Whether or not Brown makes a big impact against New York, the Dolphins can’t afford to lose the game. Miami has done an admirable job of getting back into the playoff discussion, but a loss to the Jets would be a devastating blow.

A win, however, would get the Dolphins back to .500 on the season at 7-7. From there, the team would remain firmly in the playoff mix with three games left.

It’s certainly a pivotal weekend for Miami. The organization is trying to earn its first playoff bid since the 2016 campaign. This season could be the year in which the Dolphins get over the hump, but they’ll need a strong finish in order to do so.
