Brian Flores issues optimistic update on Tua Tagovailoa ahead of Miami Dolphins game vs. Baltimore Ravens

The Miami Dolphins are dealing with a short week, as they’re set to face the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday.

Miami just earned its second win of the season, but the Dolphins are going to have to put together a fantastic performance in order to knock off the Ravens.

Fortunately, it sounds like Tua Tagovailoa is trending in the right direction as it pertains to his finger injury.

It remains to be seen if Tagovailoa will be able to play against Baltimore, but Miami is surely hoping the youngster will be good to go. He has been limited to just five games this season due to injuries.

Tagovailoa only has one victory under his belt this season, and he certainly wants that to change. A Dolphins win over the Ravens would get Miami to 3-7 on the year.

Moreover, the final months of the season might be Tagovailoa’s last chance to prove to the Dolphins that he’s capable of being the organization’s long-term quarterback. After Miami was involved in the Deshaun Watson sweepstakes at the trade deadline, Tagovailoa is presumably feeling the heat.

The second-year quarterback has completed 65.6 percent of his passes this season for 1,040 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also thrown five interceptions.

Tagovailoa has shown flashes of potential throughout his young NFL career, but he’s still trying to find a way to put it all together. If he can play against Baltimore, he’ll hope to put together a statement performance.

Unfortunately, even if Tagovailoa and the Dolphins do have a strong showing against the Ravens, Miami likely isn’t headed for the playoffs this season.
