The Miami Dolphins reportedly have agreed to terms on a deal for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, but they are waiting for his legal issues to be resolved.
Miami reportedly wants NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to give clarity on the length of a suspension Watson will face for sexual assault allegations that were brought to light this offseason.
Houston Chronicle reports Dolphins & Texans have agreed on trade terms for Watson, but Dolphins want his legal issues resolved before consummating deal (good luck with that).Chronicle suggests Ross wants clarity from Goodell on length of potential suspension (good luck with that)

It’s going to be hard for the Dolphins to find the exact punishment that Watson will face from the NFL or in the civil suit pending against him.
These issues seem unlikely to be resolved/clarified before Tuesday's trade deadline. And even though the teams have reportedly agreed on compensation, nothing legally binds them (obviously) to complete deal next spring or whenever there is resolution on those 2 issues https://t.co/MjJU2nmduR

A Watson deal would likely mean the end to Tua Tagovailoa’s time in Miami.
Tagovailoa was the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he and the Dolphins have struggled this season going 1-6 through the first seven weeks.
Watson is an All-Pro caliber player, but he comes with a massive question mark regarding his status.
