Report: Miami Dolphins host free agent offensive lineman for visit

The Miami Dolphins reportedly hosted offensive tackle Roderick Johnson for a visit on Thursday.

Johnson hasn’t signed a deal with Miami, but it appears the team may want to add more depth to its offensive line group.

“The Dolphins on Thursday auditioned offensive tackle Roderick Johnson, a former Cleveland Browns fifth-round pick out of FSU who appeared in 29 games and started six for Houston over the past three seasons,” the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson wrote.

Miami lost starting left tackle Austin Jackson to the reserve/COVID-19 list in Week 1, but Liam Eichenberg filled in admirably for the 2020 first-round pick.

Johnson, 25, was a fifth-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, but he’s only made six career starts in 29 games.

The Dolphins face the Buffalo Bills in Week 2, but it will be interesting to see if they decide to add an offensive lineman prior to Sunday’s matchup.
