The Miami Dolphins are reportedly signing linebacker Shaquem Griffin to a one-year deal.
The deal must have come together rather quickly. It was reported just Friday morning that the Dolphins were hosting Griffin on a free-agent visit. Hours later, the two sides agreed to a deal.
Griffin is an inspirational story, and Dolphins fans should get familiar with it. Griffin had his left arm amputated as a child after he was born with a syndrome that caused major issues to the limb. Miraculously, he has been able to pursue his dreams of playing in the NFL.
He spent each of his first three NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks who selected him in the fifth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. As a pro, Griffin has totaled 17 solo tackles and 25 total tackles.
During his time at the University of Central Florida, Griffin was a star.
With the Dolphins, Griffin will likely see most of his playing time with the special teams unit. He should be a nice addition.
