According to a recent report, the Miami Dolphins are hosting linebacker Shaquem Griffin on a free agent visit.

“The Dolphins are hosting linebacker Shaquem Griffin on a free agent visit, a league source said Friday morning,” wrote Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post.

Griffin is known best for his inspirational path to the NFL. He was born with amniotic band syndrome in his left arm which ultimately led to an amputation of the limb. Despite that, he has been able to battle through adversity and play football professionally.

Griffin had a great career at the University of Central Florida. During the 2016 season, he recored 57 solo tackles. During the 2017 season, he recored 43 solo tackles. He finished his college career with 18.5 sacks. Griffin helped the program to a perfect season in his final year there.

In the NFL, Griffin has spent each of the first three years of his career with the Seattle Seahawks. He has recored 17 career solo tackles and 1.0 sack to this point. He has also been able to make an impact on the special teams unit.

Griffin could be a nice addition to a Dolphins team that is looking to make the playoffs this season for the first time since 2016.
