Report: Dolphins signing cornerback Cre’Von LeBlanc to 1-year deal

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly signing cornerback Cre’Von LeBlanc to a one-year deal.

LeBlanc most recently played for the Philadelphia Eagles. He joined the team in 2018 and proceeded to spend the 2019 and 2020 campaigns there.

LeBlanc has never been named to a Pro Bowl or received any similar honors, but he will have a chance to make Miami’s roster and will hope to compete for a role on the team. It may be an uphill battle, as the Dolphins currently have one of the more talented defensive backfields in the NFL.

For his career, LeBlanc has 18 passes defended, two interceptions, a fumble recovery and a defensive touchdown to his credit. He hasn’t always gotten a lot of playing time, so he has had to make the most of his opportunities.

It’s a low-risk addition for the Dolphins, and LeBlanc will be worth keeping an eye on throughout training camp. He will surely be playing with a chip on his shoulder as he tries to prove himself.

LeBlanc is the second notable addition of the day for Miami. The team also added linebacker Shaquem Griffin.
