An unnamed Miami Dolphins player recently said that 23-year-old quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has impressed a lot of people in the organization recently with his growth.

“A player insisted to me that teammates were really impressed with Tagovailoa’s growth this offseason and many on the team believe he’s going to be really good,” wrote Barry Jackson of Miami Herald.

Tagovailoa is coming off of a rookie campaign that was largely regarded as a disappointment. In 10 games, Tagovailoa completed 64.1 percent of his passes for 1,814 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Perhaps the most unsettling part of the year for Tagovailoa was the fact that veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was injected into games in high-pressure moments multiple times after Tagovailoa was named the starter.

Expectations were sky-high for Tagovailoa after he had a historic career at the University of Alabama. His stock arguably reached an all-time high after his sophomore season. That year, he completed 69.0 percent of his passes for 3,966 yards and 43 touchdowns over 15 games.

An injury in his junior season hurt his draft stock, allowing the Dolphins to select him with the No. 5 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

He certainly has a lot of untapped potential at the NFL level, and fans hope that he can get to the next level in the upcoming season.
