Miami Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howard took to Instagram recently to prove that he is still putting in work despite his current holdout.
He’s seen doing drills and practicing with a trainer in a video that he posted to his Instagram.
Howard, 27, is holding out in hopes of receiving a new deal. There has also been a fair amount of speculation regarding a potential trade involving the two-time Pro Bowler.
Howard is coming off a 2020-21 season in which he led the league in interceptions with 10. He also led the league in pass breakups with 20. Clearly, he believes that he has earned the right to negotiate a new deal based on the results he has produced.
Dolphins fans would hate to see Howard go, as he is a major key to the team’s defensive success.
In the 2020-21 season, the Dolphins allowed just 21.1 points per game. There were only three teams in the league that allowed fewer points per game last season.
It will be interesting to see how the Howard situation unfolds with the 2021-22 season creeping up.
