The Miami Dolphins are reportedly still attempting to trade veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy following earlier reports that the team plans on releasing him.
Van Noy, 29, tallied 69 total tackles, six sacks and two forced fumbles over 14 games in his first season with the Dolphins after signing a four-year, $51 million contract last offseason.
Prior to Miami, Van Noy spent over three seasons with the New England Patriots where he won two Super Bowls.
Following the reports on Tuesday of the Dolphins’ intentions to release him, Van Noy broke his silence and expressed his disappointment with the situation.
Parting ways with Van Noy will save the Dolphins $9.75 million in cap space next season if they are unable to find a trade suitor.
