Report: Miami Dolphins have not yet released Kyle Van Noy as they are trying to trade him
- Updated: March 4, 2021
The Miami Dolphins are reportedly still attempting to trade veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy following earlier reports that the team plans on releasing him.
The Dolphins have not yet released OLB Kyle Van Noy because the team is trying to trade him, per source. Van Noy is due a $12.5M salary this year.
A tough trade to pull off even for a productive and respected player, but the Dolphins are trying.

Van Noy, 29, tallied 69 total tackles, six sacks and two forced fumbles over 14 games in his first season with the Dolphins after signing a four-year, $51 million contract last offseason.
Prior to Miami, Van Noy spent over three seasons with the New England Patriots where he won two Super Bowls.
Following the reports on Tuesday of the Dolphins’ intentions to release him, Van Noy broke his silence and expressed his disappointment with the situation.
Parting ways with Van Noy will save the Dolphins $9.75 million in cap space next season if they are unable to find a trade suitor.
