The Miami Dolphins are reportedly interested in signing kicker Jason Sanders to an extension this offseason.

“According to a team source, the Dolphins have expressed interest in a contract extension for Jason Sanders,” wrote Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

“Both sides would like to work out an extension, but it hasn’t reached the point of serious negotiations, according to a team source. The question is whether the Dolphins are willing to pay him on par with Justin Tucker’s four-year, $20 million extension with the Ravens in 2019. That was the richest deal ever given to a kicker.”

Sanders earned first-team All-Pro honors last season, connecting on 36-of-39 field goals, including going 8-of-9 from 50-plus yards out.

He was perfect on all 36 extra-point attempts as well, making him the only kicker in the NFL who attempted more than 16 PAT last season not to miss.

Sanders, 25, was drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft by Miami. He will be entering the final year of his rookie contract and is set to make $920,000 in base salary in 2021-22.
