Miami Dolphins rookie Tua Tagovailoa offered high praise for his head coach, Brian Flores, for his actions in the wake of a brawl sparked by a hit on Dolphins return man Jakeem Grant.
Grant was hit by Mike Thomas of the Cincinnati Bengals during Sunday’s game, which led to the heated brawl. Flores came on the field in the midst of the melee and had to be held back by Dolphins players.
After the brawl ended, three players were ejected, including the Dolphins’ DeVante Parker and Mack Hollins.
Flores took over as head coach of the Dolphins last year and after a brutal 2019 start has them currently on pace for a playoff spot with an 8-4 record.
The Dolphins ended up winning Sunday’s game, 19-7, shutting out the Bengals after the visitors scored a first-quarter touchdown.
Tagovailoa bounced back strong in the contest after sitting out last week’s win over the New York Jets. In this clash, Tagovailoa completed 26 of 39 passes for 296 yards and one touchdown.
