Here’s the key area Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa hopes he can improve his game

Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has had a solid start to his professional career.

Tagovailoa is 3-1 as a starter, and he has the Dolphins sitting at 6-4 through the first 11 weeks of the NFL season.

However, the rookie struggled in Miami’s 20-13 loss to the Denver Broncos this past Sunday, and there are a few things he hopes he can improve on next week.

According to the Sun Sentinel’s Safid Deen, Tagovailoa cited his indecision as something he needs to work on next week.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa cited one major issue he had during last week’s Denver Broncos game, which led to his first benching in the NFL,” Deen wrote.

“He could not distinguish whether he had time or space to make throws to receivers who were covered by opposing defenders.

“The indecision made Tagovailoa hold onto the football longer than he should have — resulting in six sacks and his replacement by 16-year veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick in the fourth quarter of Miami’s 20-13 loss on the road.

“Tagovailoa will remain the Dolphins starting quarterback, coach Brian Flores has insisted, with Miami’s Week 12 matchup on the road against the winless New York Jets (0-10) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

“Dolphins offensive coordinator Chan Gailey believes he can help Tagovailoa figure out this problem, which became apparent during his fourth career NFL start.”

The Dolphins benched Tagovailoa in the loss, but Fitzpatrick didn’t fare much better, as he threw a game-ending interception in the end zone.

The Dolphins and Tagovailoa will look to rebound against the winless Jets in Week 12.
