Miami Dolphins legend Dan Marino is reportedly open to helping rookie Tua Tagovailoa develop.
Tagovailoa is coming off of the first start of his NFL career on Sunday. The Dolphins were able to beat the Rams, 28-17, in his debut.
Overall, the University of Alabama product completed 12 of his 22 pass attempts for 93 yards and a touchdown. He added two carries but did not gain any yardage.
It was an underwhelming debut, but the big thing for Miami is that it got the win.
Tagovailoa certainly has room to grow and improve, and reaching out to a legend like Marino could help.
In his storied career, Marino threw for 61,361 yards and 420 touchdowns in 17 seasons. He is considered one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game.
Miami is now 4-3 this season and in second place in the AFC East behind the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins are firmly in the playoff hunt, and it will be up to Tagovailoa to get them there.
The rookie will take on the Arizona Cardinals and star quarterback Kyler Murray next Sunday.
