Report: DeVante Parker Takes Major Step to Participate in Miami Dolphins’ Home Opener

Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker was reportedly practicing in full pads for the team’s Wednesday practice, raising hopes that he’ll be ready to play in Sunday’s home opener.

Parker aggravated his hamstring in Sunday’s 21-11 loss to the New England Patriots after first dealing with that injury during training camp. The injury kept him off the field during the second half.

Dolphins head coach Brian Flores had been noncommital regarding Parker’s status, stating that a combination of rehabilitation and treatment will be a major factor in whether or not he suits up this weekend.

During Parker’s time on the field against the Patriots, he had collected four receptions for 47 yards and appeared to be picking up from where he left last season.

Despite playing only during the first half, Parker’s output for the afternoon led the team’s receivers, an indication of the veteran’s value to the team.

Parker has been forced to deal with injuries over the course of his five-year career, but he is still considered to be one of the centerpieces of the team’s offense.

The Dolphins will be facing the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, a division rival that won their Week 1 game on Sunday. A loss to the Bills would put the Dolphins in a big hole just two weeks into the season.
