About a week and a half before they launch the 2020 season, the Miami Dolphins received some good news about one of their most important skill players.
Wide receiver DeVante Parker has been declared good to go for their Week 1 contest against the New England Patriots.
Parker was the 14th overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft and looked to be a prospect with a high ceiling. However, he looked like something of a bust in his first four years, as he never registered as many as 800 receiving yards or five touchdowns in a season.
Last year, though, the Louisville, Ky. product started to blossom, putting up 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns.
Despite that, Parker is still sometimes overlooked as one of the league’s better wideouts, as he was not named to the NFL’s annual list of its top 100 players.
He has missed some practice time in recent days while dealing with an injury as the Dolphins prepare to face Bill Belichick’s squad.
But the fact that Parker has apparently healed is very good news for a team that is looking to progress this season after finishing last in the AFC East last year.
