Miami Dolphins Rumors: Dolphins Connected to Utah State’s Jordan Love

A new report indicates that Utah State University quarterback Jordan Love is one of the signal callers that the Miami Dolphins are considering when they take part in next month’s NFL draft.

The 6-foot-4 Love played three seasons at Utah State and racked up nearly 7,000 passing yards over the past two seasons.

Love had an outstanding 2018 campaign in which he threw for 32 touchdowns and just six interceptions.

Last season, he was more vulnerable handling the Aggies’ passing attack with 20 scoring tosses and 17 picks.

Those two contrasting performances are why it remains uncertain exactly where Love will be selected in the draft.

With the Dolphins in possession of three first-round picks this year, they likely have greater flexibility when it comes to choosing someone they hope to be the future leader of the franchise.

One possible area of concern for those teams considering Love is the level of competition he faced among teams in the Mountain West Conference. Another is the lack of any tradition connected to the school when it comes to developing quarterbacks for the NFL

In the latter case, only two Utah State quarterbacks have enjoyed an extended NFL career: Bill Munson, who played from 1964 to 1979, and Eric Hipple, who played nine seasons during the 1980s.

The Dolphins are also reportedly considering signing former Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston.
