A member of the Miami Dolphins’ coaching staff finds himself in legal trouble following an arrest on early Friday morning. Dolphins outside linebackers coach Ryan Crow was arrested on a domestic battery charge, per jail records from Broward County.
Not long after the clock struck midnight on Friday, officers from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance. After an on-scene investigation, Crow was placed under arrest.
According to an arrest report, the alleged victim did not suffer any serious injuries and refused medical attention. However, some other details don’t paint a pretty picture.
“JUST IN: Miami Dolphins OLB coach Ryan Crow is accused of shoving a family member and looking like ‘he was about to perform a takedown,'” wrote Andy Slater on X.
“Witnesses told police that the victim’s feet were off the ground and Crow had his arm’s around the person.
“The victim refused to give cops a sworn statement.”
Slater added more in a separate post.
“The incident started over a conversation about past relationships, police say,” Slater wrote.
“The alleged victim is female.”
A probable cause statement was also shared to X.

The Dolphins organization released a statement following Crow’s arrest, with the team announcing that it is putting him on administrative leave.
“We are aware of the serious matter involving Ryan Crow and currently gathering more information,” the Dolphins said. “Ryan has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately. We have been in communication with the NFL and will reserve further comment at this time.”
As of Friday morning, Crow was being held in jail without bond.
Crow got his start in the NFL’s coaching ranks with the Tennessee Titans all the way back in the 2018 campaign, and he hasn’t been coaching with the Dolphins for all that long. He started as an outside linebackers coach for Miami in the 2024 campaign.
If the Dolphins’ decision to put Crow on administrative leave is of any indication, his future with head coach Mike McDaniel’s coaching staff seems to be unclear after he’s spent just one season with Miami.
News of Crow’s arrest is an unfortunate development for the Dolphins with their Week 1 game against the Indianapolis Colts coming up on the horizon on Sept. 7. There will certainly be updates to monitor from here, both in terms of the legal matter and Crow’s standing with the team.
If Crow’s role has to be filled for any amount of time, the Dolphins may need to act quickly since the season is right around the corner.
