Tyreek Hill looks back on being traded to Miami Dolphins: ‘Changed my life’

Miami Dolphins star receiver Tyreek Hill reflected on being traded to the Miami Dolphins on social media, stating that the trade changed his life.

The Dolphins moved a massive haul of draft picks to the Kansas City Chiefs for Hill. The package included five picks in total and one first-rounder.

Hill immediately transformed the Dolphins’ offense, finishing with 119 catches for 1,710 yards and seven touchdowns in the 2022 season, leading to an All-Pro selection. Hill helped quarterback Tua Tagovailoa really come into his own in the NFL, and the Dolphins made the playoffs in the receiver’s first season with the team.

In the 2023 season, Hill might have been even better. He once again caught 119 passes, except he only needed 16 games to reach that number after appearing in 17 games in the 2022 season. The eight-time Pro Bowler finished with an NFL-best 1,799 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns in the 2023 season while earning yet another All-Pro nod.

The Dolphins once again made the playoffs, but they fell short against Hill’s former team (Kansas City) in the postseason.

Unfortunately for Hill and the Dolphins, the 2024 season did not have as much success. Hill struggled with Tagovailoa missing several games, finishing the campaign with under 1,000 receiving yards, his first time falling short of that mark since the 2019 season. Also, Hill played through injury during the 2024 campaign.

Overall, he caught 81 passes – his fewest since the 2019 season when he appeared in just 12 games – for 959 yards and six scores. He also finished with an average of just 56.4 receiving yards per game, his lowest since his rookie season.

Despite that, it appears that the star wideout is grateful to be in Miami. It’s a nice development after his future with the team came into question when the Dolphins missed the playoffs this past season.

A Super Bowl champion during his time with the Chiefs, Hill is hoping to lead Miami to a playoff run in the 2025 season and prove that he is still one of the most valuable players in the NFL.

The Dolphins are hoping that a healthy Tagovailoa and some roster changes will be enough to get them back in the mix in the AFC in the 2025 campaign.
