Orlando Magic guard Mac McClung’s most memorable dunk of Saturday’s Slam Dunk Contest was arguably his very first one. In maybe an homage to former Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin, he dunked the ball over a parked car and received a perfect score of 50 for the feat.
Tons of folks were impressed by the dunk, but Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill had his own reaction. Hill appeared to joke on X that he’s seen Dolphins cornerback Ethan Bonner pull off the same feat.

Bonner has yet to really make a name for himself with the Dolphins. He has appeared in just seven regular-season games over the past two campaigns and hasn’t started a game for the team yet. However, he did force a fumble in the playoffs in the 2023 season, and he’s certainly hoping to increase his stock as his career continues.
McClung might be in the middle of the most dominant stretch from one player in the long history of the Slam Dunk Contest. With his victory on Saturday, he became the first player ever to win the contest three years in a row.
McClung dominated Saturday’s competition from start to finish, as he earned perfect scores on every one of his four dunks spanning two rounds.
The runner-up in the contest was San Antonio Spurs rookie Stephon Castle, who was maybe the most productive NBA player to participate. He’s shown a lot of promise in his maiden season to this point and scored 20 points against the defending champion Boston Celtics in San Antonio’s final contest prior to the All-Star break.
While McClung is one of the more accomplished players in the history of the Slam Dunk Contest, all that success hasn’t translated to a spot in an NBA rotation.
He’s played only five NBA regular-season games ever since he kicked off his pro career in the 2021-22 campaign, and he’s logged one appearance with the Magic so far this season. McClung has already played for four teams in the NBA: the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls and Orlando. He’s currently signed to a two-way deal.
