Blake Ferguson compares Donald Trump’s Inauguration Day to Christmas

Donald Trump’s inauguration took place on Monday, and the Republican was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States. Joe Biden’s four-year term leading the country officially came to an end when the clock struck noon that day.

This term doesn’t mark Trump’s first rodeo in such an important position in the country’s democracy, as he served his first term as president from early 2017 up until early 2021.

Miami Dolphins long snapper Blake Ferguson took to X on Monday morning ahead of Trump’s inauguration and seemingly compared his anticipation to Christmas morning.

Ferguson is an outspoken supporter of Trump. When Trump officially won the presidential election back in November, he celebrated the outcome with multiple posts on social media and said “let this be a lesson.”

The 27-year-old was also critical of Biden on a number of occasions throughout his term in the White House. Back in 2022, he challenged Biden on the COVID-19 policies that were set in place when the virus arguably still posed a large public health concern. Specifically, he took exception to the policy mandating folks to wear masks while traveling on airplanes or any other form of public transportation.

Ferguson has spent the entirety of his time in the NFL as a member of the Dolphins organization after the team selected him in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. However, he didn’t see the field all that often in the 2024 regular season after he appeared in 16-plus games in every one of his first four seasons in the pros.

The former Louisiana State University star logged just five games played for the Dolphins, and his final game of the campaign came against the New England Patriots all the way back on Oct. 6. It’s of note that Ferguson fumbled the ball for the first time of his NFL career in that game.

There were plenty of folks on social media who expressed disappointment in the fact that Biden’s term came to an end and Trump took his place on Monday, but Ferguson certainly was not one of them.
