Tyreek Hill’s hilarious response when asked why Miami’s run game hasn’t been productive

The Miami Dolphins have gotten minimal production from their running game in recent weeks. In the team’s win against the New York Jets on Dec. 8, the Dolphins totaled just 44 rushing yards.

Against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 28, Miami ran for 39 yards as a team.

Before the Dolphins’ monumental matchup against the Houston Texans on Dec. 15, wide receiver Tyreek Hill was asked why the team’s running game has seen a dip in effectiveness of late, and Hill provided a comical response.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has made up for the lack of production that the team has received on the ground with some gaudy individual performances. He has thrown for 300-plus yards in each of his past three games played after he reached that mark in just one of his first six starts of the campaign.

Tagovailoa also hasn’t thrown a single interception in that span.

Hill has benefitted as much as any player on the Dolphins from Tagovailoa’s torrid stretch of play. He racked up 115 receiving yards against the Jets and another 83 against the Packers. Those performances mark the second- and third-most receiving yards that Hill has accumulated in a single game this season.

Additionally, some late-game heroics from its signal-caller helped Miami avoid what would have been a disastrous loss against a lowly Jets team. Tagovailoa threw a passing touchdown to Hill in the fourth quarter of the contest and another to tight end Jonnu Smith for the game-winning score in overtime. Miami won that contest by a final score of 32-26.

Tagovailoa likely is hoping to throw for 300-plus yards in the fourth consecutive game when the Dolphins play the Texans in a contest that has playoff implications. Miami is trying to win out with a 6-7 record on the season and four games remaining on its schedule.

If the Dolphins can beat the Texans, an undefeated finish to the campaign would seemingly be attainable. Every one of the final three opponents that the Dolphins will take on have records below the .500 mark, and Miami will actually play the Jets again to wrap up its regular season on Jan. 5.
