Tua Tagovailoa says he has armed security: ‘I hope that if you decide to go to my house, you think twice’

Last month, the NFL issued a security alert indicating that criminals believed to be tied to a South American crime syndicate have been targeting the homes of professional athletes at an increased rate.

The homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were burglarized in October, and they haven’t been the only victims.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is trying to make sure that he isn’t the next victim of a burglary. He recently shared that he’s had security for a long time and issued a warning to any folks who may be tempted to pay an unwanted visit to his house.

The play of Tagovailoa was key to the Dolphins’ comeback victory over the New York Jets in their most recent game on Dec. 8. He totaled 331 passing yards and two passing touchdowns without throwing an interception. Additionally, he completed 33 of his 47 passing attempts.

The 26-year-old has done a great job of taking care of the football and valuing Miami’s offensive possessions lately. He hasn’t thrown the ball to the opposite team since the Dolphins beat the Los Angeles Rams on Nov. 11, and he has 11 passing touchdowns and zero interceptions across his last four games played.

Tagovailoa is averaging an impressive 325.3 passing yards per game during that span. That’s more than he averaged during the 2023 regular season, when he suited up in every one of the Dolphins’ 17 contests and ended the campaign with a league-high 4,624 passing yards.

His most productive game this season from a passing yardage standpoint came not too long ago against the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 28. He threw for a season-high 365 yards and made good on 37 of his 46 passing attempts, but the Dolphins still lost the contest by 13 points.

Miami is hoping that loss was just a blip. Thanks in large part to Tagovailoa, the Dolphins have been playing winning football recently and are close to the .500 mark on the season at 6-7.

Tagovailoa will attempt to lead the Dolphins to their seventh win of the campaign when they play the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium on Dec. 15. At 8-5, the Texans own the top spot in the AFC South right now.
