Terron Armstead on whether he feels good ahead of Sunday’s game: ‘It doesn’t matter’

Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Terron Armstead hasn’t practiced with the team all week. However, Armstead has suited up in all but one of Miami’s 10 games in the 2024 regular season thus far, and he’s doing everything in his power to play in the Dolphins’ upcoming matchup against the New England Patriots despite a knee injury.

“I’m trying to do everything I can to be ready for Sunday,” Armstead said.

When asked about how he’s feeling ahead of the contest against the Patriots, Armstead offered a short answer.

“It doesn’t matter,” he said.

He explained how he can prepare without practicing.

“Lot of mental [reps],” he said. “I’ve got to be locked in on the playbook, know my assignment and have a plan for each player I’m going to go against. I do that. I make sure I have a plan to attack each rusher and fit in the run game.”

Armstead is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. Fullback Alec Ingold has the same designation. Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel expressed optimism about the two of them playing.

Meanwhile, offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn (PUP) and safety Patrick McMorris (IR) are both questionable to be activated for the game. McDaniel said that it’s likely they will be activated in the days following the game.

The Dolphins have cornerback Kendall Fuller listed as out.

It will be worth monitoring all of the players who are listed as questionable. Shifting back to Armstead, it’s of note that he also didn’t practice at all for Miami during the week of the team’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, yet he still played in that game, which the Dolphins won by a final score of 34-19.

When healthy, Armstead has been a key offensive lineman for the Dolphins in recent years. He’s currently in his third season with Miami, and he earned Pro Bowl nods in each of his first two seasons with the squad.

If Armstead doesn’t play against the Patriots on Sunday, he would be a massive loss for a Miami offensive line that has been just mediocre at protecting its signal-callers. The Dolphins have allowed 25 sacks so far this season, and 16 teams in the NFL have allowed fewer. It’s also worth noting that some teams have played 11 games while teams like Miami have played 10.

Here’s hoping that Armstead will take the field with the rest of the offensive line when the Dolphins take on the Patriots.
