Tyreek Hill drops massive truth bomb after Miami Dolphins lose to Buffalo Bills

The Miami Dolphins suffered another heartbreaking loss on Sunday, falling short against the Buffalo Bills despite their best efforts.

With the loss, the Dolphins are now 2-6 on the season, and their playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread.

Wide receiver Tyreek Hill spoke after the game about what’s next for the team.

With quarterback Tua Tagovailoa back in the fold for the Dolphins, the team has been significantly better offensively in two straight weeks, but it hasn’t translated to wins.

The Dolphins scored 27 points last weekend against the Arizona Cardinals and dropped 27 points once again this weekend against the Bills. While that’s often enough to win a football game, the Dolphins lost to the Cardinals 28-27 and fell to the Bills 30-27.

If Miami were to win out from here, it would finish 11-6. That’s the same the record the squad had in the 2023 regular season.

The Dolphins have had four straight winning regular seasons, but a winning record alone isn’t always enough for a playoff bid.

Here’s how Miami has performed in each of the last four regular seasons and whether or not it was enough for a spot in the playoffs.

  • 2020 season: 10-6 (16-game regular season), didn’t make playoffs
  • 2021 season: 9-8, didn’t make playoffs
  • 2022 season: 9-8, made playoffs
  • 2023 season: 11-6, made playoffs

Getting to 11-6 this season would put the Dolphins in good shape, but getting there is going to be easier said than done. Miami would need to win nine games in a row to finish 11-6, and the team still has some tough opponents on its schedule.

As for Hill, he has looked more like himself with Tagovailoa back in action, but the wide receiver still hasn’t been as dominant as he can be. Last weekend, he had 72 receiving yards, and this weekend, he had 80 receiving yards. He’s still only broken 100 on one occasion this season.

If the Dolphins want any chance at saving their season and putting together a long winning streak, they may need Hill to play like he did in the 2023 regular season, when he led the league in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
