The Miami Dolphins have 12 players listed on their injury report, and the team’s Week 8 matchup versus the Arizona Cardinals is looming.
Interestingly, the two players listed as questionable for the Dolphins have both been linchpins to Miami’s offensive success in recent years. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill is questionable to play for Miami with a foot injury. He popped up on the Dolphins’ injury report recently after he was limited in the team’s practice on Thursday.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is listed as questionable as well, though he cleared concussion protocol on Friday and is expected to play against the Cardinals. The Dolphins’ starting signal-caller has sat out Miami’s last four games thanks to his head injury, which marked the third diagnosed concussion of his NFL career.
But while Tagovailoa is trending towards a return to the field in the near future, another one of Miami’s players at the quarterback position in Tyler Huntley is now down for the count. He is currently on injured reserve after he suffered an injury to his right shoulder in the third quarter of the Dolphins’ 16-10 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 20. Tim Boyle was tasked with leading the offense for the remainder of the contest after Huntley left the game.
As for the opposition, rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. might be the most important contributor on Arizona’s injury report. He was selected with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft out of Ohio State University. In seven appearances (all starts) with the Cardinals so far this season, he has accumulated 300 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns.
Harrison is also averaging 42.9 receiving yards per game, which is not much less than what Dolphins star receiver Jaylen Waddle is averaging in his fourth NFL season.
A win on Sunday would put Miami’s record at 3-4 with 10 regular-season games remaining on the team’s schedule. The Dolphins need to string together some wins if they’re going to catch up to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC East standings, as Buffalo owns a 5-2 record.
