Tyreek Hill pops up on Miami’s injury report ahead of matchup vs. Cardinals

Just days after Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill put together his worst performance of the 2024 regular season against the Indianapolis Colts — he finished with just eight receiving yards on one reception — he was reportedly limited in the team’s practice on Thursday with a foot injury. A handful of other players were limited, including Jevon Holland, Emmanuel Ogbah and fellow wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Hill has played in all six of Miami’s contests so far this season, but when looking at his receiving numbers, he is in the midst of one of the worst seasons of his NFL career.

For one, Hill has only accumulated one receiving touchdown so far. For perspective, he’s never racked up fewer than six receiving touchdowns in a single season, and he totaled a league-high 13 last season.

It’s also of note that the 30-year-old is on pace to finish with under 1,000 receiving yards on the season, which would mark the first time he hasn’t reached quadruple digits in that stat since 2019, when he was still a member of the Kansas City Chiefs.

What makes Hill’s subpar production thus far this season so jarring is that he had the best receiving season in Dolphins history not all that long ago. He totaled a franchise-record 1,799 receiving yards without even playing in all 17 of the Dolphins’ games in the 2023 regular season.

But perhaps Hill will look more like the dominant force he was a season ago once Miami’s signal-caller in Tua Tagovailoa makes his return. It is seemingly likely that Tagovailoa will play against the Arizona Cardinals, as he fully participated in the Dolphins’ practice on Thursday. So long as he doesn’t show any concussion symptoms on Friday, he will be cleared to play against Arizona.

It’s unclear as to whether Hill will be able to take the field with the rest of Miami’s offensive unit on Sunday. But if he does, expect him to bounce back from his quiet outing against Indianapolis, especially if Tagovailoa is Miami’s starting quarterback for the matchup.
