Dolphins provide key injury updates ahead of Week 7 clash vs. Colts

With a few days to go before Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver gave injury updates on a pair of players who have been impactful on the defensive side of the ball this season in linebacker Emmanuel Ogbah and safety Jevon Holland.

Weaver is reportedly optimistic that Ogbah will take the field for the Dolphins in their Week 7 bout and hopeful that Holland will do the same.

Holland has spent his entire NFL career with the Dolphins so far, and he has started every one of the team’s five games in the 2024 regular season. Thus far in his fourth season in Miami, he has racked up eight assisted tackles, 14 solo tackles and 22 combined tackles. The 24-year-old has also forced one fumble and defended two passes.

The former University of Oregon standout has been a vital piece to the Dolphins’ defensive units ever since he started out his pro career, as he logged at least 12 starts in each of his first three seasons in the league and is on track to eclipse that number this season.

Like Holland, Ogbah has been a member of the Dolphins for a significant period of time, as he is currently in his fifth season with the team. But he hasn’t been with the Dolphins for the entirety of his NFL career. He began his pro stint with the Cleveland Browns — who drafted him in 2016 — and even spent one season with the Kansas City Chiefs before he took his talents to Miami.

Ogbah has accumulated one interception, two sacks, 18 combined tackles, five quarterback hits and four tackles for loss in five games played this season (all starts). His lone interception of the campaign so far came in the Dolphins’ loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 30.

The Dolphins might need Ogbah and Holland to play on Sunday if the team wants its best shot at beating the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium. Indianapolis boasts a home record of 2-1 on the season.
