A decision that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill made on social media has sparked new speculation that the veteran may want to return to team that he started his NFL career with: the Kansas City Chiefs.
Hill uploaded old highlights of his time with the Chiefs to his Snapchat story.
Hill’s stint in Kansas City spanned six seasons in total, and he racked up 1,100-plus receiving yards in four of those seasons.
During his time with the Chiefs, Hill played with probably the best quarterback he has ever played with in his life in Patrick Mahomes. But it’s worth mentioning that Mahomes didn’t cement himself as the starting signal-caller in Kansas City until the 2018 season, which marked Hill’s third in the pros.
Hill was lucky enough to be part of some great teams in Kansas City. He experienced multiple deep playoff runs with the team and even won a Super Bowl when the Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers in February of 2020.
But after winning the sport’s ultimate prize with Mahomes and company, Hill hasn’t come close to winning another Super Bowl since he was traded to the Dolphins.
Not only that, but Hill hasn’t even won a single playoff game in a Dolphins jersey. Ironically, in last season’s playoffs, Miami’s quest for a title came to an end at the hands of the Chiefs.
Furthermore, the Dolphins have gotten off to a slow start to the 2024 regular season. Miami has picked up wins in just two of its five games and is one game back of the Buffalo Bills for the top record in the AFC East division.
When factoring in all of the individual and collective success that Hill enjoyed as a member of the Chiefs as well as the Dolphins’ current situation, one can’t really blame Hill if he does indeed want to return to Kansas City. The addition of Hill would make Kansas City even more of a force to be reckoned with than it already is.
Ultimately, however, Hill has been known to troll on social media, and he may be perfectly content with the Dolphins.
