Tyreek Hill pens instant reaction to Dolphins’ win over Patriots

The Miami Dolphins found a way to pick up a pivotal win over the New England Patriots on Sunday, but it wasn’t pretty, with the Dolphins relying heavily on their defense to get the job done.

After the game, wide receiver Tyreek Hill took to X and sent a message about winning ugly.

With Tyler Huntley getting the start at quarterback again, the Dolphins were only able to scratch across 15 points, but that was enough for the team to get back in the win column. Miami’s defense allowed just 10 points, opening the door for the Dolphins to win 15-10.

Hill didn’t have one of his signature games, but he certainly made an impact. He led the Dolphins in receiving yards with 69 on six catches. He still hasn’t had a truly big game since Week 1, but his performance against the Patriots was certainly his best outing since then.

Miami’s points came on three field goals from kicker Jason Sanders and a touchdown run from fullback Alec Ingold late in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, running backs Jaylen Wright and Raheem Mostert combined for 166 rushing yards, and Huntley threw for 194.

The Dolphins couldn’t afford a loss to a manageable opponent like the Patriots, and although it was dicey at the times, Hill’s squad got the job done to move to 2-3 on the season. Miami will now get to enjoy its bye week knowing that its season has some new life.

After the bye, the Dolphins will have a chance to get back to .500 in Week 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. But they’ll have to do so without quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who will remain sidelined for at least one more game as he recovers from his concussion.

He could return in Week 8 against the Arizona Cardinals, which would obviously give Miami a major boost moving forward this season.

If the Dolphins were to hand the keys back to Tagovailoa with a 3-3 record, they’d be right back in business in the playoff conversation, but for now, they’re likely focused on simply enjoying their victory over the Patriots.
