Report: Miami Dolphins now dealing with over 20 injuries as Tyreek Hill joins list

With the start of the 2024 regular season less than one month away for the Miami Dolphins, the squad is battling the injury bug.

More than 20 players on the team are dealing with injuries at the moment, and star wide receiver Tyreek Hill appears to be one of the newest additions to the list. He reportedly wore a brace on his right hand during Miami’s practice on Tuesday and didn’t catch any passes.

The good news is that the injury seemingly isn’t serious, but it’s certainly still unsettling to see such an important Dolphins player dealing with a physical ailment.

The 30-year-old didn’t suit up in Miami’s most recent preseason game, which came against the Washington Commanders on Aug. 17.

Without Hill on the field for Miami, fellow wide receiver Erik Ezukanma — who was selected by the Dolphins with the No. 125 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft — picked up the slack, as he finished with a team-high 65 receiving yards on seven targets in the squad’s 13-6 victory.

The Dolphins have yet to lose a preseason game to this point, as Miami also picked up a victory without Hill in its preseason opener against the Atlanta Falcons on Aug. 9. Miami will wrap up its preseason schedule when it takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Aug. 23.

Dolphins fans are surely hoping that Hill’s injury won’t be an issue for very long. After all, if it weren’t for the play of Hill during the 2023 regular season — his second season as a member of the Dolphins — Miami might not have stood out as one of the NFL’s most potent offenses.

Hill led the entire league in receiving yards (1,799), receiving touchdowns (13) and receiving yards per game (112.4). Miami’s offense lit up opposing teams for 29.2 points per contest during the regular season, which ranked as the second-most of any team in the league.

After Hill had one of the best seasons of any player in franchise history from a receiving standpoint, it will be exciting to see if he can play even better in the upcoming 2024 campaign.
