Tyreek’s recent social media activity makes it perfectly clear how he feels about Tua’s contract situation

The Miami Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa have yet to come to an agreement on a new deal that would keep the quarterback on the team beyond the 2024 season. But if Tyreek Hill were calling the shots, his teammate likely would have already signed his name on the dotted line.

Hill said earlier this month that Tagovailoa should’ve already been paid by now. Now, his social media activity also indicates just how strongly he feels about the 26-year-old star’s contract situation. He liked a couple of telling posts on X.

It’s unclear why the two parties have not yet agreed to terms. Tagovailoa is presumably holding out for the most lucrative deal he can possibly get, while the organization might still be heavily weighing its options before making him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.

The good news is that contract talks appear to be ongoing. In addition, Tagovailoa was with the team when Miami’s organized team activities (OTAs) commenced after he skipped some voluntary offseason work.

Hopefully, the contract situation will not negatively impact Hill’s perception of the front office because alienating one of the most crucial roster pieces should be the last thing Miami wants to happen.

The 30-year-old wide receiver has been impressive since coming to the Dolphins via trade in the 2022 offseason. In the 2022 campaign, he caught 119 passes for seven touchdowns and a career-high 1,710 yards. His performance helped the team book a trip to the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season.

Hill did even arguably better in his second year in Miami, as he established a career-high in receiving yards for a second consecutive season with 1,799, which also led the league. He was also the league leader in receiving touchdowns (13) and receiving yards per game (112.4).

With a healthy Tagovailoa and “Cheetah” leading the way, the Dolphins earned another trip to the playoffs in the 2023 season. Now, they’re hungry for more and would love to make a deep run in the postseason.

Evidently, the quarterback-wideout duo has done wonders for Miami, so it stands to reason that the franchise should want to retain its stars and keep them as happy as possible.
