Miami Dolphins long snapper Blake Ferguson took a shot at Joe Biden after the president suggested that airlines should have fee-free family seating.
Biden wants airlines to allow parents to fly next to their children without having to pay an additional fee to do so.
While Ferguson didn’t seem to disagree with the idea, he does seem to think that there are bigger issues at hand. The 26-year-old doesn’t appear to be a fan of Biden as he took a shot at what the president is worried about during his tenure leading the country.
This isn’t the first time that Ferguson has publicly challenged Biden on social media.
A George native, Ferguson questioned the policy of wearing masks on airplanes back in 2022, stating that he was maskless during lunch at an airport.
The policy was in effect because of the COVID-19 pandemic that swept the world during 2020.
When the mask mandate for travelers issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was no longer in effect, Ferguson took to social media to celebrate the decision.
A sixth-round pick out of Louisiana State University, Ferguson has been with the Dolphins since the 2020 season. He entered the NFL at an unprecedented time, as the 2020 season forced the league to deal with a lot of unforeseen challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his Dolphins career, Ferguson has appeared in 67 games across four seasons. While he has a role that doesn’t see the field too often since he’s on special teams, the long snapper has seven tackles and a fumble recovery in his NFL career.
Ferguson has also gotten the chance to play in both of Miami’s playoff games over the last two seasons.
He is under contract with Miami through the 2026 season. However, there is a potential out in his deal this coming offseason, and Miami would accrue about $412,000 in dead cap if the team were to move on from him.
Given Ferguson’s consistency at the long snapper position, it’s hard to see Miami moving on from him with so much time left on his deal.
